Dear Superintendents, Principals, and Music Teachers,

The Jr. High/High School Division of the Mississippi Music Educators Association will sponsor workshops
throughout the 2007-2008 school year. These workshops are designed to foster continuing teacher education
and professional growth by providing new ideas, materials and teaching strategies that may be implemented in
the classroom. The workshop location and dates are listed below.

Workshop topics will vary by location and may include the following: Music Reading Session, Sight-Reading, Festival
Repertoire, Changing Male Voice, National Boards, Honor Choir Music, MMEA Past, Present, Future, Repertoire
Resources, and more.

Registration Fee for the workshop is $25 for MMEA members, $50 for non-members, and $10 for college students. Add $15
for late for on-site registration. Lunch will be provided and is included in the workshop fee. You may pre-register for the
workshop in your area. Please complete the pre-registration form and return it to the chairperson of the workshop you are
planning to attend. The deadline for pre-registration is two weeks before workshop date. Please make checks payable to MMEA.
CEU's will be available for $10.00. Persons signing up for CEU's must attend the entire workshop to receive credit. On-site
registration for CEU's will also be available.

The Mississippi Music Educators Association is affiliated with the Music Educators National Conference: The National
Association for Music Education and all music teachers are encouraged to support their professional organization.
Applications
for MENC membership will be available on-site at the workshop.
Please make membership checks payable to MENC.
Membership is $90 annually.

School administrators; please consider the fall workshop as an opportunity for professional development for your music
teacher(s). If it is possible for the school district to provide membership fees, registration fees, and /or a professional day for your
teachers, this workshop will be worthwhile use of time and money.
